Oregon Berry Packing Company produces succulent blueberries which are unsurpassed in color, quality and taste.  Heath benefits have proven the blueberry to be the hottest commodity in the berry  market and the firmness of our berries make them ideal for shipping to wholesale distributors.  The Duke variety kicks off our  fresh blueberry season in the latter  part of June.  It is well known to be the premium blueberry in the market and continues to increase in demand.  As the Duke's season nears an end, our high quality, late-producing blueberries begin to ripen.  These rare varieties enable us to supply wholesale distributors with delicious berries long after the summer ends.

Oregon Berry Packing Company grows only those blueberry varieties optimally suited to our climate and with the characteristics consumers want most.  Fields are planted, pruned, fertilized and harvested under our direct supervision.

Handled with Care

Because the time between picking and cooling is critical to freshness, picked blueberries are  rushed to our pre-cooler and brought below 40° F as quickly as possible.  A color chlorophyll sorter removes unripe fruit, and a blower  gently removes field debris.  Berries are graded, sized and hand-inspected.  Any berries that don’t meet our high standards  are removed from the  processing line.

Before being packed in individual baskets, fresh blueberries pass through a metal detector to guarantee against any metal particles.  This extra precaution protects consumers and removes any potential liability for our distributors.  A tracking code printed on fresh blueberry labels or trays contains picking and processing dates, and source field information.

Innovative Storage, Air Shipping Protects Flavor

Our atmospheric-controlled cooler holds fresh packed blueberries for  shipment during the season and enables us to extend fresh market sales into November!  The high humidity, constant low temperature and lowered oxygen content in the cooler suspends the berries' development, enabling them to maintain their original color, flavor and freshness.  Fresh berries are shipped by refrigerated truck or air to worldwide markets, arriving in two days or less.
