in the Northwest. Now, with the help
of
modern processing, packing and shipping technology, our fresh premium-quality
blueberries, blackberries and raspberries can be enjoyed across the U.S., in Japan, the
Pacific Rim and Europe.

is 
committed to the highest standards of cleanliness and freshness. In order to
meet those high standards, we carefully control every step of the process, from
the selection of berry varieties that offer high yields of flavorful and appealing
fruit, to growing, harvesting, processing, packing and shipping. Our fresh
berries usually arrive at their destination within two days from the day
they were picked.
Our Process is Designed to Maintain Freshness
Over the years, we’ve determined that time and temperature are critical to preserving freshness. Blackberries and raspberries are more fragile than blueberries. In order to keep handling to a minimum, our blackberries are actually inspected and packed in the field. Pallets of packed berries are sent hourly to our high capacity pre-cooler, which quickly lowers their temperature for storage at 32° F.
Blueberries are trucked from the field
every two hours to the pre-cooler. Once cooled, blueberries are more hardy and
store
better than other berries. Some are packed immediately. Debris is
removed by a blower and a color chlorophyll sorter separates out unripe berries.
Next they are graded, sorted by size and manually inspected. Only premium quality
blueberries that meet our quality standards move through a metal detector and into packaging.
Berries that will
be packed later are sent to our atmosphere-controlled cooler where the
constant low temperature, raised CO2
levels and reduced oxygen content of the air keep them fresh.
Fresh berries are available in baskets with molded plastic lids in several sizes, as well as in bulk quantities. Depending on the size of the wholesale order, we can accommodate a variety of packaging needs.
