As summer begins and July approaches, get ready for “Blueberry Month” from the state of Oregon! Although Oregon’s blueberry season is beginning about one week later than normal, we will see the first harvest of our Duke variety early next week. The perfect blend of this year’s warm and dry bloom period allowed bees to get out and pollinate to the best of their abilities’. In addition, the cool June weather has enabled blueberries in our microclimate to size up nicely and forecasts call for mildly warm, mostly dry weather into the middle of July. As in the past, we expect these conditions to encourage further sizing and a sweet flavor that can only be found in Oregon-grown blueberries.
We will continue to update this page as our season progresses, so please stop by every once in a while to see what’s happening.
